COME, FOLLOW JESUS: “Tale of The Feast”

Matthew 22:2-14

CFJ DINNER
“Give me happiness, O LORD, for I give myself to You.”(Psalm 86:4, NLT)

Every once in a great while, a person would receive an invitation to an elegant affair, be it a birthday party or a wedding; Or maybe one receives an invitation to a Thanksgiving dinner-Would they accept? Some would say yes, while others would have excuses to not attend.
In this week’s message, I would very much like to talk about being called, especially when we are being called to serve for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Who took the punishment for all of our sins and paid the price for us with His life. You see, Our Heavenly Father has prepared a kingdom for us, a Kingdom called the Kingdom of God, and we shall someday be a part of His Kingdom if we would accept His invitation by believing that Christ Jesus died on the cross for our sins and that He had risen from the dead as the ultimate payment for all of our sins, both in the past and in the present.
In the 22nd chapter of the Gospel of Matthew, verses 2-14(NLT), Jesus explains about the Kingdom of Heaven in the parable of the wedding dinner: “The Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by the story of a king who prepared a great wedding feast for his son. When the banquet was ready, he sent his servants to notify those who were invited. But they all refused to come! So he sent other servants to tell them, ‘The feast has been prepared. The bulls and fattened cattle have been killed, and everything is ready. Come to the banquet!’ But the guests he had invited ignored them and went their own way, one to his farm, another to his business. Others seized his messengers and insulted them and killed them.

The king was furious, and he sent out his army to destroy the murderers and burn their town. And he said to his servants, ‘The wedding feast is ready, and the guests I invited aren’t worthy of the honor. Now go out to the street corners and invite everyone you see.’ So the servants brought in everyone they could find, good and bad alike, and the banquet hall was filled with guests. But when the king came in to meet the guests, he noticed a man who wasn’t wearing the proper clothes for a wedding. ‘Friend’, he asked, ‘how is it that you are here without wedding clothes?’ But the man had no reply. Then the king said to his aides, “Bind his hands and feet and throw him into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'”
What Jesus had just addressed in that parable paints a stark picture for us of what will happen if people ignore and reject God as well as His Son. God would like for us, especially you, to join Him at His banquet, a banquet that will last for all eternity, in which happens to be the reason He sends us those invitations again and again and again; With that, I would very much like to ask: Have any of you accepted the Lord God’s invitation? That invitation shall only be accepted if you believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and that you have repented of them.
Here is the thing: Our Heavenly Father loves you so very much, that in order to save you, He has shown His unfailing love for all of us by sending His only Son, Christ Jesus, to be born from the womb of a virgin named Mary, to be grown and to become the most greatest teacher as well as preacher in all of mankind. And then, although He had asked His Father to take the suffering away from Him, Jesus fulfilled His Father’s will by allowing Himself to be beaten, whipped, forced to carry, and then was nailed to, suffer, bleed, and then die on the cross, allowing for His most precious blood to become the payment for all our sins. And then, three days later, Christ was risen from the dead by our Lord God, our Heavenly Father, defeating death as He went out of that cold, dark tomb, so that each and every one of us can very well have that marvelously blessed thing called eternal life. My friends, if you have been struggling with your sins in the past and had been wanting to find a way to free yourself from this darkness, then there is no better way to do so than by giving your very own heart to Jesus Christ, because He has paid the ultimate price for YOU!

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent His Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through Him.” (John 3:16-17, NLT)
Friends, are you ready to give up your former lives and to be ready to receive the invitation by our Lord God to come to His Kingdom by giving your very own heart to Jesus Christ right now? Then please pray this prayer with me: “Oh, Lord God, Heavenly Father, I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that You have sent Your Son, Christ Jesus, to die on the cross for my sins, and that You have raised Him from the dead on the third day, defeating death so that I could have life eternal. I ask now that You please allow Your Son to come into my heart, and to let me follow Him always as my personal Savior. I thank You so very much for allowing Your Son to sacrifice Himself for me. In His most holy & blessed name. Amen.”
If you have just prayed this prayer with me, then I would very much like to welcome YOU into God’s Great, Big Family! Now that you have given your heart to Jesus Christ, the very next thing that you need to do would be to read the Holy Bible, God’s Most Blessed Word, each and every day of your life, and then you need to go to a good, Christian church each and every Sunday of your life, so that you can praise, worship, and thank our Heavenly Father for sending His Son to make the most ultimate sacrifice for you. I pray that you would make this most important and most blessed choice by giving your own heart to Jesus Christ today, so that He shall very well be with you for always. I would like to thank you for taking the time to read this message today; Until the very next time, Lord willing, may the Lord God bless you ever so richly.

Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
