THE TIMES I HAD ONCE PLAYED DRESS-UP ON HALLOWEEN…

Today, not only the fact will be that I shall be going to work, but I shall be dressing up for Halloween for a very special reason-The place where I work at, the Patterson Dining Facility at the Dover Air Force Base here in Dover, DE, is having this Halloween costume contest in which the best costume would be judged; I am planning on going to work in a mash-up costume…What kind of mash-up costume, you ask? Well, that I cannot tell you, because it is kind of a top secret. Hopefully, I shall tell you all about it in the next post soon…

Now, this happens to be the very first time that I am going to spend Halloween in a workplace, so it is with that that I would surprise my co-workers with a costume that’s as original as I can think of; and boy, are they gonna be surprised…

This is definitely not the very first time that I had dressed up for Halloween-I had been dressing up for as long as I can ever remember, ever since I was a little kid. Which brings me to this story in which I shall now share with you: When I was a little girl and was then living in Philadelphia, PA, I was attending which I think was then called public school; That Halloween I had left my Ben Cooper Barbie costume-and-mask at home, so my old school had provided me with a costume that they say belongs to somebody: In case you have been wondering what that costume was, yes, it was a cow costume. And just before the school had its Halloween parade, I had begun to imitate a certain sound that all cows do make, and that sound happens to be: “MOOOO!!”

The Halloween parade at my old school in my former home of Philadelphia began, and I had walked on stage in that cow costume as very best as I could…

As the years went on, I would attend my old school’s Halloween parades in the various costumes that I have dressed up in, until I had graduated in June of 1987; So that Halloween moment in time, as well as others, wal all of those years ago. I have since gotten much older now, 44 going on 45 years old, and I had begun to have this certain kind of feeling that, with personal things of my own going on in my mind, that maybe I really am just too darn old for Halloween, and that maybe I should be fully concentrating on other coming holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas (while I should not ever forget my birthday)…But I do not think so, just not yet, at least not until after I would do just once more for the road, donning that top-secret mash-up costume. Just my co-workers wait and see…
