It’s a very strange world that we are living in right now, isn’t it? Once again, my own heart is sinking once again for Thousand Oaks, California, because of both the shootings and the wildfire. While I am here in Dover, Delaware in 51-degree weather, I watch one very bad news story after another as the families who are still grieving for their loved ones who have been killed in that horrible shooting tragedy are now I think packing all of their belongings and evacuate, and I do not think that there would not ever be any funerals for any of the victims, at least until the wildfires of California are finally put out, if they ever are put out…(As of this writing, I am still awaiting any updates on the shooting.)
And yes, in case you are wondering, I am once again sickened by all of this even as you are reading this; The entire community of Thousand Oaks, California has ultimately suffered a VERY double whammy of both a shooting and a fire. You would think that I would sit here and be so very angry about it while I am writing this, but no: I am writing this post today because I am beginning to feel that maybe it is very well time to do something about this-We may not be Californians, but we are indeed Americans, and as Americans, we need to band together to help our brothers and sisters in the Golden State, a practice that goes all the way back to the pioneer days: When a person was in trouble, we pull together to help, so that is definitely what I am about to suggest…
So, with that, I say this: I would like for each and every American to come together and just put on whatever fundraiser you can hold, to help both those who have been affected by the devastating wildfires, and the families of the victims of the most horrible shooting in American history, a tragedy for all of us in America to experience.
And for those of you who are living in Delaware, especially Dover, Delaware, I would very much like for you to hold whatever fundraiser you can have as well, because those people who have been affected by those wildfires, as well as the families of the victims, are going to need all of the love and all of the support that they can ever get, not just for today, tomorrow, next week, or next month, but far beyond those.
California is the most golden state that there ever was and still is, one that has got Hollywood and Disneyland, not to mention Universal Studios’ own theme park. What’s more, California has even got San Francisco, not to mention the fact that it was the state that once had a gold rush back in 1849! And yes, for every dreamer that has ever dreamed of going to the beach, California even has its very own beaches.
And now, California is in critical condition, with both a wildfire and the fact that it is reeling from the deadly shootings.
So, with that, we, as Americans, must all band together to help one of our most wonderful neighbors in this crucially dire time of need. I would like for each and every one of you to start a fundraiser, however large or small, and to help support both those who have been affected by the wildfires and the families of the shooting victims. You can be creative: You can set up a hot chocolate stand, or even start a car wash or even a toy/food drive. Whatever creativity drives you to start a fundraiser, just please remember that every dollar would go straight to those who have been affected. It would surely help all the people in California, and it would do your own heart good as well.
So, let’s start our fundraisers today, shall we? Thanks so very much.
