COME, FOLLOW JESUS: “Never Be Ashamed”

2 Timothy 1:8-11

“…never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord.” (2 Timothy 1:8, NLT) (Illustration by Jenn Webster)

Have any of you, when you were younger, ever been ashamed of doing something that you were not supposed to do, or that you have promised either your friends or family members that you were going to do something for them, and then not ever do it? Do you ever feel ashamed about that? Everyone feels ashamed about the bad things that they had done in one point in time or another, but let me ask you all this: Have any of you ever been ashamed of committing a sin? Or rather, a WHOLE LOT of sins?
Yes, I bet that all of you have committed sins in the past, and I certainly know that I have, too; Each of you has committed sins in various sorts, sins such as lying, cheating, stealing, drugs, alcohol, gambling, pornography, and other such sins like those. If you people have committed those such sins and are feeling very ashamed right now, then I have got good news-There happens to be a certain way, in fact, the ONLY way that you can be saved from your sins, and that salvation can only come from our Heavenly Father Himself! Yes, in spite of your flaws, as well as mine, God loves you anyway, and He loves you so very much, that in an effort to show His unending love for us and to save each and every one of us all, He has sent His Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, to do the will of His Father, the will to save us all.
Our Lord God sent Jesus Christ to earth to be born from the womb of a virgin named Mary, to be born in a stable in Bethlehem, and to save all of us by taking our place as the ultimate punishment for our sins by having allowing Himself to be beaten, whipped, forced to carry, and then be nailed to, suffering, bleeding, and then dying on the cross; and then, three days later, Jesus was raised from the dead by our Heavenly Father, defeating death as He went out of that cold, dark tomb, so that every one of us could very well have life eternal.

My dearest friends, if you have been trapped all those years in the dark shell of your sins, then there is no better time to confess of and repent of your sins to God and to allow Jesus Christ to come into your heart than right now! Once you have been forgiven of your sins and that Jesus Christ is now officially in your heart, then you shall be washed clean of your sins, and have a spiritual heart like no other!
Now, what is next after you have given your hearts to Christ Jesus? Well, naturally, you should share the Gospel of the Good News of Jesus Christ to others; The apostle Paul explains this to Timothy in the first chapter of 2 Timothy, verses 8-11(NLT): “So never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord. And don’t be ashamed of me, either, even though I’m in prison for Him. With the strength God gives you, be ready to suffer with me for the sake of the Good News. For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was His plan from before the beginning of time-to show us His grace through Christ Jesus. And now He has made all of this plain to us by the appearing of Christ Jesus, our Savior. He broke the power of death and illuminated the way of life and immortality through the Good News. And God chose me to be a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of this Good News.”
Just as this verse has told us, if you should ever want to live a holy life, then commit your sins to our Heavenly Father, our Lord God, and invite His Son into your heart, because God showed His love to us by saving us by showing His grace through the precious blood of His Son, and it is not because we deserve it, but it is all because of the fact that, before the beginning of time, it was God’s plan to show us His grace through Jesus Christ. He has sent His Son to pay the price by dying for us all so that we could all be saved. My dearest friends, there happens to be no better time to come to Jesus Christ than right now!
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent His Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through Him.” (John 3:16-17, NLT)
And now, are you ready to have your sins forgiven and to have Jesus Christ come into your heart? Then I ask that you please pray this prayer with me: “Oh Lord Jesus Christ, I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that You have died on the cross for my sins, and have been raised from the dead on the third day, defeating death so that I could have eternal life. I ask now that You please come into my heart, and to let me follow You always as my Savior. Thank You so very much for paying the price for me so that I could be saved. In Your most holy and blessed name. Amen.”
If you have just prayed this prayer with me, then I would like to invite YOU into God’s Family! Now, the next thing that you must do now that you have given your hearts to Jesus Christ would be to read the Holy Bible, God’s most blessed Word, each and every day of your life; And then, you must attend church each and every Sunday of your life, so that you can praise, worship, and thank our Lord God for giving up His Son on the cross to save you from your sins. I very much hope as well as pray that you would make the most important decision of your life by giving your heart to Jesus Christ today, so that you can be with Him always. I would like to thank you so much for taking the time out of your schedule to read my message today. Until next time, may the Lord God richly bless you.

Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.
