Just about everyone has their behaviors in which they could not ever get rid of; There are those kinds of people who prefer to stay in the darkness. But if people stay in the darkness, then they would be so very much worse off than ever before, and that would be a bad thing, would it?
Just picture a neighbor who is trying to get another neighbor to stop drinking alcohol and to think about her children; But she refused, therefore angrily snapping at him to mind his own business. Then, the woman is arrested for neglecting her children because of her alcohol use…
Then, there is a man who has been in obesity for many years, and doctors have told him time and time again to straighten up, eat right, and lose weight. Then, the man still does not listen; Suddenly, he dies of a heart attack…
You see, these are the very short examples of what could happen when people choose to remain living in the darkness; And with the fact that people choose to remain in the darkness, consequences happen. Now, suppose if you are a Christian, and that you try to get someone to listen to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Who took our place on the cross for our sins by dying, but that someone would not ever listen, because again, that person would rather remain in the darkness…Now, may I ask you this: Could that certain someone be you?
We are in the midst of the Lenten season; Soon, we shall be celebrating Holy Week, commemorating the final week of the life of Jesus Christ, the week that would lead into Good Friday, and then finally into Easter…You see, this season is a time to think about this: In spite of our sins, God loves us, and the only way for Him to save us and to bring us back to Himself was for Him to send His only Son, Christ Jesus, to Earth to fulfill the most perfect will of the Father: He took the place of a criminal on the cross, suffering, bleeding, and then dying for our sins; and then, three days later, our Heavenly Father raised His Son from the dead, defeating death as He went out of that cold, dark tomb, so that every one of us could very well have life eternal.
Now, when someone believes that Jesus died on the cross for their sins, then he or she has repented of their sins and asked Him to come into their hearts, so that they could have a blessed life free of sin, and free of living in the darkness.
Just listen what the apostle Paul has to say in the 2nd chapter of Ephesians, v. 3-10(NLT): “All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else. But God is so rich in mercy, and He loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, He gave us life when He raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) For He raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of His grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all He has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus. God saved you by His grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.”
Paul has addressed something in which I think that every single person should know: Once we were lost in the darkness, so very full of our sins; But instead of deserving punishment, Jesus Christ took the punishment for us and nailed our sins to the cross, and that way, all of our debts shall be wiped clean!
My friends, are you yourselves living in that darkness right this very minute, a darkness that is filled with so much emotional pain and sorrow while being in a darkness that has you trapped by your sins? Then if so, there is the light-A very, special Light-the Light that comes from the Lord Himself, Jesus Christ! He is that Light, a Light in which can help you out of this darkness once and for all, and into a life that leads you to follow Him and to help you tell others about Him! All you have got to do is to repent of your sins, and ask Jesus to come into your heart-It’s that simple!
“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in His grace, freely makes us right in His sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when He freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed His life, shedding His blood.” (Romans 3:23-25, NLT)
And so my dearest friends, are you ready to come out of the darkness and into the wonderful light that is in the salvation of our Lord Jesus Christ? Then I ask that you please pray this prayer with me: “Oh Lord Jesus Christ, I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that You have died on the cross for my sins, and have been raised from the dead by Your Father on the third day, defeating death so that I could have eternal life. I ask now that You please come into my heart, so that I could follow You always as my Savior. Thank You so very much for taking my place on the cross to save me. In Your most holy & blessed name. Amen.”
If you have just prayed this prayer with me, then I would very much like to welcome YOU into the Family of God! Now, the very next thing for you to do now that you have given your heart to Jesus would be to read the Holy Bible, each and every day, and then, you must go to a good, Christian church, each and every Sunday, so that you can praise, worship, and thank our Heavenly Father for saving you from the darkness of your sins by sending His Son to die on the cross for your sins. I very much hope as well as pray that you make the most important decision of your lives by giving your heart to Christ Jesus today, for always. I would like to thank you for taking this most blessed time to read my message today. Until next time, may the Lord God bless you ever so richly.
Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
