And now, I would like to get to the most favorite thing that I have always enjoyed doing at my blog for the past 6-½ years, and that happens to be doing the religious posts that I do and in which I have done almost every week at my WordPress-hosted blog, WordPress… Before I start, I would very much like to state that I am a Christian, and I have been a Christian for 19 years, and although I have been through many bad times in my life, I had not ever shied away from my faith; Now, recently, I have been having trouble in my relationship with my family, as in my uncle, aunt, and cousins. The reason for me having problems in my relationship with my family is that they are not Christians, like I am; What’s more, they are what I would like to call them verbally dysfunctional-They curse in front of me, and when I ask what is wrong, they just brush me off and say, “Nothing!”, as in they do not want to talk about their situations to me! I am sad and heartbroken for my family for acting this way, and I fear that they are going to miss out on the most blessed word of the Gospel of Jesus Christ that they so desperately need to hear. So as long as I am staying with my family, I hope and pray to make every effort to try and get my family to listen to me, and hopefully, they would finally hear of the Gospel.
Now, getting back to my earlier subject, for the past six-and-a-half years, I have been doing Christian posts almost every week, every Sunday; First of all is COME, FOLLOW JESUS; Prior to this current name change, this weekly feature has been presented under these original names: MESSAGE FOR SUNDAY and THE SUNDAY SERMON; Now it had been renamed “COME, FOLLOW JESUS”, and in that weekly message, I take something from the scripture of the Bible and then do a message based on it. I have just written and published the final post, and if you want to read it, then just go to this link right here. Next is another weekly feature, and it is called THOUGHT FOR TODAY, and in it, I would present a scripture from the book of the Psalms, but sometimes I would present a scripture from the book of Isaiah as well… I hope that the weekly Sunday features that I have presented at my blog for the past 6-½ years have helped those find their way back to the Lord God Himself through the precious blood of His Son whom which He has sent, Jesus Christ. “…God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners…” (Romans 5:8, NLT)
Ladies and gentlemen, this is the very last COME, FOLLOW JESUS message as I am going to be closing this blog on June 14th and leaving WordPress to move on to bigger and much better things. Indeed, the Lord God has blessed me with the gift of sharing the Gospel with those who so desperately needed to have their ears opened to hear it, and I have used this gift so very well for the past 6 ½ years; As the days, weeks, months, and years go by, I shall find other ways to use my gift of sharing the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in other parts of social media.
Indeed, no matter what age, race, or sex, there are people out there somewhere who are in desperate need of the hearing of the Gospel, the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ; In order to save a sin-sick world as well as to show His unending love for us all, our Heavenly Father sent His only Son, Christ Jesus, to earth to be born from the womb of a virgin named Mary in a stable in Bethlehem. Then, Jesus grew up to become the greatest Teacher, Preacher, and Healer that mankind has ever known; And then, on that Good Friday, Jesus had done that no one else on this here earth could ever do: He took our place on the cross, being forced to carry it, and then be nailed to it after allowing Himself to be beaten, whipped, and tortured; Then, Jesus was nailed to the cross, suffering, bleeding, and then dying on the cross so that we could be saved for all of our sins. Then, on the third day, our Lord God, our Heavenly Father, has raised His only Son, Jesus, from the dead, defeating death as He went out of that cold, dark tomb, defeating death so that each and every one of us could very well have life eternal.
In the 28th chapter of Matthew, verses 18-20(NLT), not long after He had been raised from the dead, Jesus gave the following final message to His disciples: “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
You see, the One who gave His Son authority over heaven, as well as earth, is none other than our Lord God Himself; And with that, Jesus has told His disciples to make even more disciples as they had preached, baptized, and taught. Now, when someone is dying or is about to leave in, say, the next month, his or her final words are just as important as anything else in this lifetime; When Jesus was about to leave and to disappear into a cloud, He left them with the final words of instruction: That they were under His authority, and that they were to make more disciples.
Yes, as Christians, Jesus was and shall always be with us, even until the end of time; Now, He told us to make disciples of all nations…Are YOU? I mean, have you ever given your heart to Jesus yet? If you haven’t, then you are missing out on the fact that the only way that can save you-and nothing else-is by the cross, the cross that had been stained with the blood that has been shed for you by Christ Jesus Himself! You see, Jesus took your place on the cross as punishment for you, and died for your sins, and that He had been raised for you so that you would be saved! My dearest friends, the Lord God loves you so very much, and He wants to invite you to be a part of His Family so that you could be with Him through eternity! All you have got to do is to repent of your sins-YOUR SINS-and believe that Jesus died on the cross for you, and to invite Him to come into your heart, so that you can follow Him always as His own personal Savior. Ask today, so that you can have that freedom from sin always! “For this is how God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent His Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through Him.” (John 3:16-17, NLT)
And so, with that, for the very last time, are you ready to receive that most precious gift of all time, the gift of salvation that has been won for us by the precious blood of Jesus Christ? Then I heartily ask that you please pray this prayer with me: “Oh, Lord Jesus Christ, I admit that I am a sinner. I have ultimately sinned against You in thought, word, and deed. I believe that You have died on the cross for my sins and have been raised from the dead on the third day, defeating death so that I could have eternal life. I ask now that You please come into my heart and let me follow You always as my personal Savior. Thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart for paying the price of Your sacrifice for me. In Your most holy and blessed name I pray. Amen.”
And now, I would very much like to say this for the very final time: If you have just prayed this prayer with me, then I would like to welcome YOU into God’s great, big family! The very next thing to do now, since you have now finally given your very own heart to Jesus, would be to read God’s most blessed Word, the Holy Bible, each and every day of your life. And then, when it becomes time to praise, worship, and thank our Lord God, our Heavenly Father, not just one day, but every week, as well as every day, then I would very much like for you to go to a good, Christian church each and every Sunday of your life, so that you can worship, praise, and thank our Lord for sending His Son to die for you so that you could be with Him…for always.
As this weekly feature comes to a close after 6 ½ years, I ask nothing but this: I hope and pray that you would give up your former life of sin, and to give your heart to Jesus Christ, not later, not next day, nor next week, nor next month, nor next year…But today, so that you shall very well be blessed to have been saved by the precious blood of Christ Jesus and to hopefully share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others who so desperately need to hear it always.
I would like to thank you all so very much for taking the time out of your schedules every week for the past six-and-a-half years to read my weekly messages; It has been a joy, honor, and indeed a blessing to have the privilege of allowing the times set aside each and every week to share the message of the Gospel with you all. For those of you who have been saved by the cross of Christ through those messages in the past, I hope as well as pray that you would take the Good News of the Gospel and to share it with others. Again, thank you all so very much. Until we meet again, may the Lord God ever so richly bless you all.
“(Jesus said): ‘And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’” (Matthew 28:20, NLT) Amen.
There is an age-old question that has been going around for many years: “What happens when you die?” Well, one just has to wonder what the answer to the question might be; Some might answer that when they die, they would probably be reincarnated as a movie star or sports figure, while others have I think no worry at all as to what would happen when they die. But for Christians, they do know the answer when they die. You see, since the fall of mankind that has resulted from the sin caused by our first parents, Adam & Eve, the world has been waiting for many, many years for a savior who could save them from sin and darkness; From that time of Adam & Eve to the time of Noah and to the time of Moses and beyond, the world has waited for someone to deliver them out of evil… Then one day, in a village in Galilee, the Lord God had selected a virgin woman by the name of Mary to give birth to His only Son; that only Son would be named by none other than Jesus Christ, who would grow up into adulthood to do His Father’s will, to save each and every one of us. How? By being placed in a kangaroo court, and then was falsely guilty, and then was forced to carry His own cross; Then, He was nailed to the cross, suffering, bleeding, then breathing His final breath, giving up His life as the price of punishment paid for us. “Yet it was our weaknesses He carried; It was our sorrows that weighed Him down…He was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.” (Isaiah 53:4,5, NLT)
And then, three days later, our Heavenly Father raised His Son from that despicable thing called death, defeating death as He had gone out of that cold, dark, joyless tomb, so that all of us could very well have eternal life. We, as Christians, have been saved by the precious blood of Christ Jesus; But wait-In an answer to that certain previous question earlier in the message, I would very much like to share that answer with you that is found in the 5th chapter of 2nd Corinthians verses 1-9(NLT); Here, the apostle Paul addresses this: “ For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God Himself and not by human hands. We grow weary in our present bodies, and we long to put on our heavenly bodies like new clothing. For we will put on heavenly bodies; we will not be spirits without bodies. While we live in these earthly bodies, we groan and sigh, but it’s not that we want to die and get rid of these bodies that clothe us. Rather, we want to put on our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by life. God Himself has prepared us for this, and as a guarantee He has given us His Holy Spirit.” “So we are always confident, even though we know that as long as we live in these bodies we are not at home with the Lord. For we live by believing and not by seeing. Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord. So whether we are here in this body or away from this body, our goal is to please Him.”
Yes, my friends, our goal as Christians is to please the Lord God, because He has purchased freedom for us through the precious blood of our Savior Jesus Christ; But what about you? Have you had any goals in life, only to fail from them with each passing day? Have you been trying to live life on your very own terms only to fallen again and again in the darkness, the darkness that has been caused by drugs, alcohol, pornography, gambling? Would you rather have a life that is much better than living your life in your own way? If so, then I have great news for you… Only the precious blood of Jesus Christ can save you from the darkness, so that you can live the life in HIS WAY, not your way; Only by repenting of your sins and by asking God to invite His Son into your heart can you be ever free of that darkness and to live a most blessed life worthy of HIs calling. Jesus took YOUR PLACE on the cross, to save you from sin, so that you shall be free indeed, and to live a life that pleases only HIM! “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in His grace, freely makes us right in His sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when He freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed His life, shedding His blood.” (Romans 3:23-25, NLT)
And so, my dearest friends, are you ready to have that wonderfully blessed free gift of salvation that has been won for us through the precious blood of Jesus Christ? Then please pray this prayer with me: “Oh, Heavenly Father, I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that You have sent Your only Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for my sins, and to raise Him from the dead on the third day, defeating death so that I could have life eternal. I ask now that You please allow Your Son to come into my heart, and to let me follow Him always as my personal Savior. Thank You so very much for allowing Your Son to make the ultimate sacrifice on the cross for me. In His holy and blessed name. Amen.” If you have just prayed this prayer with me, then I would like to welcome you into the Family of God! Now, the very next thing that you need to do now that you have given your heart to Jesus would be to read the Holy Bible, God’s blessed Word, each and every day; Then, when you are ready to praise, worship, and thank the Lord for all that His Son has done for you, then you need to go to a good, Christian church each and every day. I very much hope as well as pray that you make that ultimate decision of following Christ today. I would like to thank you so very much for taking the time to read this message this week, and I would very much like for you to join me next week for my final post of “COME, FOLLOW JESUS”. Until then, may the Lord God bless you ever so richly.
Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
